Do you want to improve your English? Do you want to make lots of friends? Let’s join the ALP program. You will know how incredible they are. Makes sure that decide what you want to do. In addition ALP is one of the funniest language programs in the U.S. Also, teachers who works there are so friendly that help us improve English. They really do of students having lots of questions.
In ALP, you can make lots of friends. They are all from different countries and have different nationality. However we have the same purpose—improving English. From them you can learn different culture. For me, I am really interested in fashion. So I more focus on the person nice dresses up nicely, then I will try to be friend with him or her. For example, Japanese people are so fashionable that we can share topics about fashion. At that time, I learn other cultures by sharing some topic. Since I want to learn really good clothing design skill, I have to know why they like those clothes and why they can design those but we can not. Those things you also can learn from ALP.
By the way, you will have opportunity to talk with native people. As you talk to them or ask them, you can learn how to study English or how to improve English quickly. They will be glad to share their experience for you. During the break time, you can have conversations partners at fun lunch. You can talk to them or and have fun there. Playing game, Such as football, ball and so on. For international students they want to enter to the University here. Also that is the reason why they came to ALP. They want to be in University classes as soon as possible even though it is hard from. Actually in University class, teachers speak so fast that we have to prepare a lot before class. Furthermore, because lots of ALP students they want to know more and more informationabout university and college. ALP have system for those stuffs. You can know every information about college and university. For example, before I took a university class, I really didn’t know what to do. Nor I didn’t know how to apply to the university. But I went to the ALP, and they helped me every thing. They do explain everything for me. They let me to know what the best thing is for me. Finally I could take the class of university without any problem. They helped me a lot.
As a result, I got lots of things from ALP. Such as English, friends, and knowledge. I believe that friendship could be established no matter which nationality they. If you like Interpersonal communication, you can make lots of friends in here.

Travel

Chinese history is curious for lot of people who is from another country. For recently more and more people want to travel around world. So I am going to introduce the travel line of china. China is a big country; they do have a lot of different nation, so I will to talk about LIJIANG GUILIN and XIAN. Those places are people most like to travel.

LIJIANG is the old city and making an important place in the history of ancient city construction. If people who is interested in the history it will be nice place for travel. You will feel relax from that city also you can know more and more mystery history things from China. LIJIANG is located on the first bend of the Yangtze River. LIJIANG Airport which can handle Boeing 737 and other small planes middle size aircraft and is located in the south of LIJIANG city, 28 kilometers away from the downtown. It was opened in July, 1995. It also offers chartered airplane service.
GUILIN is regarded in China as the country's most picturesque city. There are many ways to get to Guilin. Good air, train and bus services are available from most part of China and abroad. The most convenient to get around for tourists is to take a tour but taxis are plentiful and the city is flat so bicycle is also an option. GUILIN is around mountains and rivers. In GUILIN they do have LI RIVER Reed Flute Cave (located highway up the GUANGMING Hill) and Folded Brocade Hill. If you want to visit there, just need to take bus. Just 10 minis you can go to each place. Only $10 you can visit all of them.

XIAN is the capital of Shaanxi Province and the biggest city in the northwest of China. This city has a long history, I have lot of friends from XIAN,” If you want to see China of 2000 years ago, you should to go to XIAN, and then you can know what happen for china about 2000 years ago.” That is my friends said to me. By the way, Xi'an lies in the GUANGZHOU Basin of Shaanxi Province and is easily reachable by bus, train and air. The urban public transportation system of Xi'an is also among the most advanced and convenient in China. For the air price is depends what day are you going to. Or you can check online.

NEW YOUK

New York is the most important economic city in United States. I have lots friends who from China that they really like shopping in NEW YORK. There are lots of building are so attract for me. Such as Flatiron Building, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty. All of them the design that are so amazing for me. That is really unbelievable for me.
Flatiron Building was one of the tallest buildings in New York City upon its completion in 1902. That build also have another name Fuller Building that they call it. The Flatiron Building was designed by Chicago's Daniel Burnham in the Beaux-Arts style. He is so famous in China after he designed that building. Today the Flatiron Building is frequently seen on television commercials and documentaries as an easily recognizable symbol of the city.
Also Empire State Building is famous too on the world. The Empire State Building was tallest on the world around 41 years. The Empire State Building rises to 1,250 feet at the 102nd floor, and including the 203 foot pinnacle, its full height reaches 1,453 feet and 8 9/16th inches. The number is so amazing for everyone. The Empire State Building has one of the most popular outdoor observatories in the world, having been visited by over 110 million people. So you can see how famous it is!
Statue of Liberty the meaning is freedom. We are like freedom, no limit, no stressful, and no more war on the world. The statue is of a robed woman holding a lit flame, and is made of a sheeting of pure copper, hung on a framework of steel with the exception of the flame of the torch, which is coated in gold leaf. It stands atop a rectangular stonework pedestal with a foundation in the shape of an irregular eleven-pointed star. The statue is 151 feet tall, with the pedestal and foundation, it is 305 feet tall.
In conculsion , There are three most interesting place I want to. Also they are famous. Eventhrough I like the amazing duilding design.If you go to there you can know how amazing they are. Can you imagne it. If you can not just go there, that will be wonderfull.

Do you think that smoking should be allowed in public places? Why?

Smoking is common in the world. Also, the number of smokers is increasing per-year. In fact, many countries started to ban people who smoke in public. In my opinion, smoking in public cannot be allowed because it is unfair to non-smokers and polluted the air.
The first reason that smoking should not be allowed in public places is because it’s unfair to non-smokers. Everyone knows that smoking is unhealthy and might cause different kind of diseases because over-indulgence in tobacco. However, there is a bigger impact for another people. For example, there are some customers are non-smokers in restaurants. However, they have to be second-hand smokers if someone is smoking. Then, those non-smoke customers’ health will be get side-effect too. As a result, smoking should not be allowed in public places.
Another reason that smoking should not be allowed in public places is because it pollutes the air. If there are some smokers who are smoking in restaurants, and that restaurant doesn’t have windows, the air will be polluted. Then, everyone has to eat in a bad environment. It not only influences the human health, but also affects the restaurants business; it makes non-smokers unwilling to go to that restaurant again. As a result, the non-smoking in public law is good.
In conclusion, smoking is not good for your health, and it pollutes the air. Therefore, government should educate people abstain from smoking in public places. Moreover, smokers also need to co-operate with society to make a healthy environment.

difference between china and u.s.

The first difference communication pattern is between females' reciprocal touching. In China, you can see many female friends walkinf down the street hand in hand, expecially female students. This is a natural phenomenon to show they are close friends. For example, I like to go shopping with my friend hand in hand, because it is just like we can protect each other and promote our friendship. By contrast, I neveer see this phenomnon in U.S. because American are so individual or indopendent. My American friends told me" if you walk hand in hand with another girl, the passerby would think you two are gay" so , I never wake hand in hand with another girl to go anywhere in the U.S.
The next difference communication pattem is greeting. In U.S."How are you?" or "Howare you doing?" is a convertional greeting. People often smile at each other and say "Hi" when passing on the sidewalk, even though they are strangers. However, in China they dont have any customers greeting between friends or family members. They just only say " What did you do yesterday?" or " Where are you going?" and never give smile to the strangers.
On the other hand, there are also many slmilarities communication pattems between China and U.S. For example. keeping space is a common way to face their new friends bosses or senivrs. As I know , in Chinese culture, keeping space is something beyong self-protetion. expecially to the strangers, they will keep 18 inches to four distance, and Americans do the same way because this is a basic politeness to show they respect each other. Another similarity communication pattern is eye contact. In China, there is an old say,"you can tell lies, but your eyes cannot tell lies." The eyes are the most honest object becamse they couldn't cheat people especially parents. For instance, in American, I saw a boy playing ball in the yard, but he broke the flowerpot carelessly. While his mother came out and saw this broken flowerpot, she asked the boy who did that, but the boy averted his eyes and responded." not me " Mother certainly knew he was lying, becamse his eyes feared contact with mother eyes. Such like thing often happend in chinese kids.
In conclusion, by learning anout Intercultural commnication, we can know how to deal with the different conntries' people, and avoid conflict, misunderstandings. Montaigne said." There never were in the word, two opinion like, no more than two hairs, or two grains; the most universal quality is diversity." Exactly the same to the Intercultural communication.

Differences of fashion style between Chinese students and Californian student

People like fashion stuffs, therefore people interested in the clothing style. People like to compare the clothing with California and china. We know the way to wear clothing between Chinese and Californian is different. Characteristics and weather influences their fashion style and makes it differences of looks between Chinese and Californian. Characteristics make a difference.
Chinese students always want to be fashionable and they care about their appearance wherever it is because they want people to think like, “I want to be a friend with this girl because she is fashionable!!” Chinese people care about other people’s feeling compare with people in the US. And also they like to wear many accessories as a part of their fashion style such as scurf, tights, hair-band, and groves.
On the other hand, Californian people care about own style because they are more like individualistic. Some people wear sweater which is printed university name, and some people wear punk style clothing. Everyone has own style and most students don’t dress up in daily life because it is not important criteria for them when they choose their friends. But they dress up when they go to clubbing. Their dress is shinny and sexy with accessories. They are bold compare with Chinese people.
Whether influence their fashion style. In china they have four seasons, spring, summer, fall, and winter and it is distinguished clearly. In summer, it is very hot and humid. In winter it is very cold. Compare with china, California is much hotter through a year. Some students wear T-shits through a year. They don’t need protect from cold. That’s why they don’t have to dress up. Especially in summer, they shouldn’t wear extra accessories with their no sleeve shirts and short skirt. Otherwise those make them sweat under glare sun shine. The cooler weather is, the more people are fashionable in china. They like put accessory to make them warm and they look more fashionable.
In conclusion, students in china and California look different because they have totally different culture and the differences make them own style. Therefore they have different expression of what fashion is. I hope you can know what different fashion is between all of them.

knott's berry farm>o<

Last Friday we went to the Knott's Berry Farm. That was amzing, in there they do have boardwalk,camp snooy, Fiesta village and ghost town. Expecailly ghost town---GhostRider.It was so scare when i took it."118 feet -- lowest point to highest point. One single, chain-driven lift raises mining cars to the crest of the initial hill, with the laws of gravity providing the power for the rest of the ride", that is how fast for it. Even you didnt take it,cont tell how scare and fast it is.

On the other hand, the Montezooma's Revenge also is a crazy one. It just take 20 second to accomplished. That was pretty cool. The Montezooma's Revenge shape is kind of circle, can you imagine it is? After i took it ,I cant to think about anything, even walk. that was scare me lots. I almost took hour to fix my feel.

Finally, at the dinner time we went to the most famouse restaurant---Mrs. Knott's Chicken dinner restaurant. It was what i ate best chiken in here. Be sure I will go to here again.

The most populer food in HongKong is DIM SUM. It also is my favourte food. We are used to eat DIM SUM everyday, because Dim Sun is good for your health,and they have different type.Dim sum includes an exotic variety of small, mouthwatering snacks. As I know lots of people don't like food too oil,expecially chinese food but Dim Sum. It is health food and deleious.In paticuler my family eat Dim Sum everyday, never feel tired. whenever we eat will take long time,Because chinese people are used to talking during eating time. Therefore if you go to Dim Sum place, dont to be suprise there is too noisy. That is the style when chinese people to eat Dim Sum. I hope you guys can to try it.
